After a brief delay as the press dove on Boris Johnson and refused to move back, the 2008 Pride London parade got underway and began winding its way from Baker Street to Whitehall, stopping traffic down Oxcord Street, Regent Street and Trafalgar Square as it went!

It was thankfully a warm, sunny day as more than 120 groups of all descriptions from major blue chips to the smallest community groups poured through the streets. The pavements were packed with hundreds of thousands of eager spectators cheering everyone on and enjoying the atmosphere.

about Pride London

Pride 2008 sees, perhaps aptly, a fairytale adventure theme, and pridegoers are invited to dress for the occasion inspired by fairytale, myth and legend. A parade through the capital's famous streets ends with a huge rally in Trafalgar Square and partying in the streets of Soho.
