The worldwide phenomenon which is SuperMartXé [pronounced soo-per•mahr•shey] has laded in London... and it's good for a lot more than a late night nibble.
This superb clubbing experience began in Madrid before opening up in Ibiza, where it's been running weekly in the world's biggest club, Privilege. And, even at its early age, it seems to have been taking the world by storm.
Tonight, SuperMartxé: Kaos City brought us quality house music from DJs Pablo Kopanos, Steve Pitron and Micky Galliano, with Miss Disk keeping an intimate second room entertained.
The production was really impressive, including an extensive stage show with Swedish vocalist Therese and dancers apparently hand-picked and flown in from across Europe. It all worked and the night was heaving from early til late with a sexy, happy, international crowd.
Imported to London by Logan and his team, SuperMartxé has been running at The Coronet, Elephant & Castle since November. With a capacity of over 2,000, this old theatre might not look like much from the outside, but has a massive, lofty dancefloor and makes a great home for the night - with the occasional character-enhancing art deco feature thrown in.
If you've not yet been, don't let the location put you off. Okay, so it may take a while to get so many people through the doors - and the venue seems to struggle with its coat queues - but the bars are well-staffed and there are plenty of loos! It's just a couple of minutes walk from Elephant & Castle tube, or a quick bus ride from Waterloo.
The best party in town? Definitely a strong contender for my vote.
