At last, after some rumours going around that Utopia would be at Heaven or Area or even at Fire, finally Utopia found its new home at the legendary superclub, the Fridge.
Romain G Lopez Productions (UK)s team decided joined forces with Love Muscle's Andrew Czezowski and Susan Carrington and with Gay Radio UK, a new national Gay Internet radio station serving the LGBT community, to bring this huge event to the gay scene.
Tina Cousins performed her five number one hits (Pray, Killing Time, Mysterious Time, Angel, Wonderful Life...) and DJ Pete Martine opened the night by spinning some of his well known remixes and performed some of his hits. This was followed by DJ Moz Morris who played an amazing set of funky/tribal house.
Richard Newman (Big Brother 7) hosted the night with Gerry Stergiopoulos (Big Brother 8), much to everyone's amusement!
The night obviously had a big budget, which was lavished on laser showers, pyrotechnics, live visuals and Chris Geary dancers.
Huge Balloons dropped from the ceiling with some lovely prizes and people gathered together with the singers, dancers and - in the end, the event turned into what felt like a friendly family reunion! It may not have been packed tonight, but the atmosphere was really positive.
Friday is set to run every last Friday of the month at the Fridge.
